Purpose:

• To evaluate a new fluorescent (light producing) drug for use with a new device to measure kidney function at the bedside.  The study will also evaluate the use of a non-invasive detection device to measure the fluorescence of the study drug through the skin.

• This study is for research purposes only and is not intended to treat your kidney disease.

Key Requirements to qualify for this study:
  • At least 22 years old
  • Must kidney impairment or kidney disease
  • May have diabetes and/or high blood pressure
  • May be seeing a nephrologist and taking medicine such as:
  • Procrit®, or Epogen®, or Aranesp® for anemia (low blood count)
Length/Duration:

• 1 screening eligibility visit
• Study administration day
• 1 follow-up visit

Qualified participants will receive study medication, study related physical exams, laboratory tests and compensation up to $600 for time and travel
